Because, "God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be,
the mightier the forces against evil." - Mother Teresa
A DYING WORLD
Millions of men, women, and children today have never experienced the presence of Jesus. Without the transforming love and presence of Christ, they are lost and without hope or purpose. Many have heard the Good News but have not yet put their trust in Jesus. In Mark 16:14-20, the Lord commissions us to tell the whole world of the hope that is to come. We pray because we want to see these precious lives saved and transformed.
A CHURCH UNITED
We are a diverse Church, holding the essentials of the faith in common but expressing our faith in rich and distinct ways. We share the presence of the Holy Spirit and are united together through our prayers for the harvest. We each eagerly desire to see our neighbors experience the transforming love of Jesus. So we are united in prayer, together making up the body of Christ.
Jesus said in Matthew 18:19-20, "If two of you agree on earth about anything, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Imagine what we might see if we were united in prayer from every region of the continent.
HISTORY REVEALS PRAYER AS A LIFELINE
Throughout history there have been powerful movements of prayer that ignite the catalytic movements of God. We believe God is on the move to radically reach the world, so we are committed to imitating the great Christian leaders of the past who prioritized prayer and repentance as they anticipated and hoped for revival.
We are praying for Revival, for Gospel Rallies that we are calling “Christ Awakening,” which is the gathering of a regional church for mission, to proclaim the Gospel and minister the transforming presence of Jesus to every person. We want to pray for months before a Christ Awakening. Our next Christ Awakening is planned for Chicago, a city with 2.7 million living in the city and approximately 2.1 million unchurched individuals. The Chicagoland area has close to 10 million residents.
To join this community of prayer warriors we are asking that you commit to praying for 2 minutes every day (or 14 minutes each week) for the next Christ Awakening.
PRAYER WARRIORS AT A GLANCE
We are the Church. We are an online, multi-ethnic, multi-social, and multi-denominational community that stands united around prayer for the proclamation of the Gospel. We believe that if the body of Christ comes together in unity we will see the fulfillment of the Great Commission in the lifetime of this rising generation. We want to see the Nations transformed by the love of Christ.
We are developing an App for the members of this group of Prayer Warriors to deepen the communities rich connection through prayer and testimony.
STRUCTURE AND BELIEFS
"Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts." - Mother Teresa
Christ Awakenings are gatherings of various churches, leaders, and organizations in a region to proclaim Christ faithfully and collaborate to love those far from God. In 2007, the first Christ Awakening happened in Chicago and 22 churches partnered together for this incredible event. Five subsequent Christ Awakening gatherings took place in Vancouver, gathering western Canadian leaders, Akron, OH, gathering Christians around the Great Lakes Region, Boston, gathering New England churches together, Wheaton, IL, in the western suburbs of Chicago, and Montreal, gathering east Canadian churches and leaders together to minister the Gospel to all who gathered. After more than a decade since those Christ Awakening gatherings that led to the ongoing unity of many churches across North America, the leaders of the Christ Awakening Movement believe it is time for more. In Chicago, we are preparing to launch the next Christ Awakening with churches and organizations in every neighborhood of Chicago. *This link is coming soon.
The Greenhouse Movement is a community of regional churches across North America focused on church multiplication and leadership mobilization. Greenhouse Movement provides the organizational and spiritual leadership for this online community of intercessors and prayer warriors.
